The Minnesota Vikings needed a running back to add to their group. Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason lacked a certain spark in 2025, and now in 2026, they may have found that spark at an incredible value in the sixth round.

With the 198th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected Wake Forest running back Demond Claiborne. Our writer, Garrett Burroughs, had Claiborne as his RB3 in the class, so this is an incredible value for the Vikings.

He brings to the Vikings a dynamic skillset that includes good burst and vision. But what isn't talked about enough is his return ability, especially in today's NFL. He was a two-time All-ACC selection, and he brings with him not just that pedigree, but also film that shows he can produce on day one for the team.

He may not get a lot of carries off the bat, but if he is the lead back by the end of the season, we wouldn't be surprised.
