The best part of NFL Draft weekend is the moments. In an instant, lives are changed forever and dreams are fulfilled.
While in the past, these cherished moments were only shared with close family and friends of the players drafted, with the advent of cell phone cameras, they’re now shared almost universally. When a draft prospect gets that call, it’s a genuine celebration of a decade-plus of hard work paying off. The tidal wave of emotions running over the player and their loved ones is a true sight to behold.
Let’s all share these wonderful moments from the Detroit Lions’ 2026 NFL Draft class. Below, I’ve found those emotional moments for as many of the Lions’ picks as I could find. I’ve also shared their first media sessions with the Detroit media, done via Zoom just minutes after they were picked.
If you found any draft videos I didn’t include from this year’s class, be sure to share it in the comment section below, and I’ll add it to the post.
With Miller, we already have both his side of the phone call with the Detroit Lions’ and the Lions’ side of the call. Enjoy:

There are a few videos from Moore on his Instagram page. You may need to scroll/swipe left to see them all below. You can also catch his first media session via a Zoom with reporters here.
Rolder was at his stepfather’s charity golf event when he got the call, and there aren’t currently any videos of that moment for the Michigan linebacker. However, here’s video of his Zoom with Detroit media shortly after he was selected by Detroit
And here’s the NFL Network draft coverage of the selection:
As of this publishing, there are no public videos of Law getting the call from the Lions or his draft party, but here’s a short breakdown of his game, as broadcasted during the draft coverage on NFL Network.
And you can watch his media session with local Detroit reporters here.
This is my favorite video of the bunch. We get Gill-Howard’s entire side of the phone call with Detroit’s front office. You can see his genuine energy and excitement, and when the phone is finally passed to (presumably) owner Sheila Ford, Gill-Howard says, “Tell them to send me that playbook.” He’s ready to go.
And his Zoom call with Detroit media can be seen here.
