Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez has had quite the week—and not all of it has been on the pitch. After holding an unprecedented press conference—a rarity in his 26 years across two spells at the helm of Los Blancos—the 77-year-old found himself face-to-face with fan frustration during Thursday night's 2-0 Copa del Rey win over Real Oviedo.

Cameras caught a tense moment as Pérez appeared to exchange heated words with a fan below his presidential box at the Santiago Bernabéu. It was an unusual sight for a club president known for his steely composure, yet it reflects a growing undercurrent of discontent among the Madrid faithful.

Earlier this season, Pérez faced whistles and chants of "Florentino, resign" during a January match. While Thursday's atmosphere was quieter on that front—no audible protests for him, nor for stars Kylian Mbappé or Vinícius Júnior—visual dissent was unmistakable. A banner reading "Florentino, guilty" appeared behind a Real Oviedo corner kick taken by Santiago Colombatto, only to be swiftly removed by security. Another banner, "Florentino, leave now," met the same fate within seconds.

This comes just two days after Pérez, who called for club elections on Tuesday, defiantly declared he was "not a dictator" and that "they'll have to take me out with bullets" to force his departure. He has accused the media of orchestrating a campaign against the club, aiming to push him from power.

For a club built on passion and pride, these scenes at the Bernabéu are a reminder that even the most powerful figures in football are not immune to the voice of the stands. Whether this tension translates into lasting change or merely a passing storm remains to be seen—but for now, the drama off the pitch is just as compelling as the action on it.
