Venezia FC is making headlines both on and off the pitch. Fresh off securing promotion back to Serie A, the historic Italian club has announced a transformative €100 million investment and a new era of leadership. Francesca Bodie has been named the new President, while global music icon Drake and sports business veteran Tim Leiweke are deepening their involvement in the club's ambitious future.

The Lagunari clinched their return to Italy's top flight with one game to spare, bouncing back from relegation just a year ago. But the real story is the bold vision taking shape behind the scenes. Outgoing President Duncan Niederaurer will retain a minority stake, but the reins now pass to Bodie, whose father Tim Leiweke and Rob Hamwee will serve as co-chairmen of the Venice Operations Committee.

"Venezia is an iconic team with a century-old history in the world's most beautiful city," Leiweke stated. "We will be relentless in our pursuit of excellence and victories to enhance the legacy of this storied club."

This leadership shakeup signals a major push for a long-awaited new stadium—a dream that has lingered for decades, dating back to previous owner Maurizio Zamparini. With Bodie at the helm, those plans may finally take shape, giving Venezia a modern home worthy of its passionate fanbase and unique Venetian identity.

Drake, who first became a part-owner in 2024, is now doubling down on his commitment. The rapper previously collaborated with Bodie and Leiweke at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the powerhouse behind the Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, and Toronto Maple Leafs. "They know what success means and how to achieve it," Drake said. "We have succeeded before, and I am excited to bring that energy to Venice."

With Leiweke injecting an additional €100 million ($117.72 million) into the club, Venezia is poised to make a serious statement in Serie A. From the canals to the stands, the Arancioneroverdi are building something special—and the world is watching.
