Former five-star quarterback Jared Curtis hasn't taken a snap in college yet. However, he's set to make a cameo in an upcoming major motion picture:

Vanderbilt's prized freshman quarterback Jared Curtis hasn't thrown a single college pass yet, but he's already making his Hollywood debut. The former five-star recruit, who's competing for the starting job this fall, will appear in comedian Nate Bargatze's upcoming film The Breadwinner, as reported by Outkick's Clay Travis.

The cameo is part of Curtis's NIL agreement with Vanderbilt, and it all started with a playful moment on ESPN's College GameDay in 2025. Bargatze, a passionate Commodores fan, used the national spotlight to personally recruit Curtis—then committed to Georgia—to flip his pledge to Vanderbilt. "Just remind Jared Curtis how much I would love for you to come to Vanderbilt," Bargatze said on air. "And we're local kids. We'll become best friends, bud."

Two weeks later, Curtis did just that. The Nashville native chose his hometown school, becoming the highest-ranked recruit in Vanderbilt history—No. 4 overall and No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 class. His decision marked a seismic shift for a program that won a school-record 10 games in 2025, fueled by Heisman runner-up Diego Pavia at quarterback.

Now, Bargatze is holding up his end of the bargain. Curtis will appear in The Breadwinner wearing a Vanderbilt hat while shopping for a car, according to the report. He'll share the screen with stars like Colin Jost (NBC's Saturday Night Live), Mandy Moore, and Kumail Ali Nanjiani.

While Curtis's acting debut is set, his on-field role remains undecided. He's currently battling Blaze Berlowitz for the starting quarterback job this fall. For Vanderbilt fans, the future is bright—both on the big screen and under center.
