The United States Women’s National Team will hit the road for the first time since December 2024. Today, U.S. Soccer announced that the USWNT will face Brazil in two matches in June, with the first match coming on June 6th at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo followed by a match on June 9th at Arena Castelão in Fortaleza.

The United States continue to schedule top 10 teams, as As Canarinhas are ranked 6th in the most recent FIFA world rankings. They recently came off a series where they faced Japan in three matches, winning two of them. They now turn their attention to the Brazilians, who will host the Women’s World Cup next summer, and face them in two matches in stadiums that will be used for that tournament.

“I’m so pleased we were able to schedule these games,” USWNT head coach Emma Hayes said in a statement. “We want to play the best teams in the most difficult environments at venues across the world as often as we can, and these two games check all those boxes. We need more games in which every fan in the stadium is cheering loudly against us and I’m looking forward seeing how our team performs and grows in these adverse conditions.”

The two teams last faced each other in April 2025 in matches at SoFi Stadium in LA and PayPal Park in San Jose. The USWNT won the match in LA by a 2-0 score, but lost 2-1 to Brazil in San Jose. Now, the teams will meet in Brazil for the first time since 2014, and it gives the United States a chance to scout out potential training sites and stadiums should they qualify for the Women’s World Cup this fall.

Neo Química Arena, the home of Corinthians, is a 49,000-seat stadium that will be one of the featured stadiums during the 2027 Women’s World Cup. It also held several matches during the 2014 World Cup, including the opener. There, the Brazil men’s national team defeated Croatia 3-1. Arena Castelão, the 57,000-seat home to second division teams Fortaleza and Ceará, also will host Women’s World Cup matches next summer and was a host stadium for the 2014 World Cup. Both sites should provide excellent settings for two matches between top 10 teams.
