It was a bit of a disappointing year at Galen Center, with both the USC men’s and women’s basketball teams experiencing frustrating seasons on some level. However, both programs are loading up for the future on the recruiting trail with the hopes of seeing significant turnarounds in 2026-2027.

Last month marked the annual McDonald’s All American games, arguably the top showcase for high school basketball players. Both USC teams were well represented at the event. The boys game featured three Trojans commits in Christian Collins, Darius Ratliff, and Adonis Ratliff. The girls game, meanwhile, was highlighted by No. 1 overall recruit Saniyah Hall, who signed with the Women of Troy.

Then last week, Hall also competed for Team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit. Playing against her on Team World were fellow USC commits Sitaya Fagan and Sara Okeke. On the men’s side, Collins suited up for Team USA.

The 2026-2027 college basketball season is obviously a long way away. However, both USC teams seem to have quite a lot of incoming talent. If the Trojans’ young players can live up to the hype surrounding them, next season at Galen Center could look very different from this past one.
