USC baseball is on a historic run, and they're making it look easy. After sweeping Rutgers in a three-game series over the weekend, the Trojans kept the momentum rolling Tuesday night with a commanding 13-4 victory over Cal State Fullerton at Dedeaux Field.

From the first pitch, USC set the tone. The Trojans exploded for eight runs in the first two innings, putting the game out of reach early. Their pitching staff locked in from there, holding Fullerton scoreless over the final six frames. It was a complete performance that showcased why this team is turning heads in 2026.

At 38-12, USC is now just two wins away from the 40-win mark—a milestone the program hasn't reached in over two decades. The last time the Trojans hit that threshold was under the late Mike Gillespie, during his final NCAA Tournament appearance. For head coach Andy Stankiewicz and his squad, reaching 40 wins would be a defining moment in a season that's already full of promise.

With six regular-season games left, a collapse seems unlikely. The Trojans have been dominant at home and show no signs of slowing down. Next up: a four-game series against Nevada starting Thursday through Sunday at Dedeaux Field. If USC can take two of three, they'll have the chance to celebrate the milestone in front of their home fans—a fitting reward for a team that's brought the excitement back to Trojan baseball.
