Bournemouth's midfield is about to receive a major boost as US captain Tyler Adams declares himself "ready to go" for Saturday's Premier League clash against league-leading Arsenal. The 27-year-old American star is set to return from a quadriceps injury that sidelined him for the Cherries' last two matches and a pair of US friendlies during the international break.
Adams, who also missed significant time earlier this season with an MCL tear, used the break to focus on his rehabilitation in Bournemouth. "It gave me a period of time to get stronger, get more fit and focus on the objectives with the boys here," he told club media. "I’m feeling consistent, I’m feeling strong now and I think it’s just important to finish the season strong."
His return comes at a crucial moment as Bournemouth carries an impressive 11-game unbeaten run in the Premier League into a daunting trip to the Emirates Stadium. The Cherries' last league defeat, however, was a narrow 3-2 loss to this same Arsenal side back on January 3rd. Currently sitting 13th in the table with seven games remaining, Adams' engine-room presence and defensive tenacity could be vital as they look to extend their remarkable form against the title-chasing Gunners.
