Updated IPL 2026 Points Table after LSG vs CSK match: Lucknow Super Giants push Chennai Super Kings to sixth with commanding win

Lucknow Super Giants dented Chennai Super Kings' playoff hopes with a dominant seven-wicket victory. Akash Singh's stellar bowling performance restricted CSK to 187, a target LSG comfortably chased with 20 balls remaining. This loss pushed CSK to sixth in the IPL 2026 standings, while RCB lead the table.

In a match that had major playoff implications, the Lucknow Super Giants delivered a dominant performance to shake up the IPL 2026 standings, pushing the Chennai Super Kings down to sixth place with a commanding seven-wicket victory at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Already eliminated from playoff contention, LSG played the role of spoiler with authority. The star of the show was Akash Singh, who marked his first appearance of the season with a sensational bowling spell, claiming 3 for 26 to restrict CSK to 187/5. It was a display that reminded everyone of the depth of talent in the league, even from teams no longer in the title race.

Chasing 188, the Super Giants made light work of the target, reaching it with a remarkable 20 balls to spare. This fourth win of the season took LSG's points tally to 8, though they remain anchored at the bottom of the 10-team table.

For CSK, however, the defeat was far more consequential. The loss dropped them one spot to sixth in the standings, with their net run rate now trailing that of the Rajasthan Royals—who also have a game in hand. Both teams sit on 12 points from 12 games for CSK, while RR have 12 from just 11, giving them a crucial advantage in the playoff race.

As the league stage enters its final stretch with just 11 games remaining, the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to set the pace at the top of the table with 16 points, edging out Gujarat Titans on net run rate. Sunrisers Hyderabad (14 points) and Punjab Kings (13 points) occupy the third and fourth spots respectively, keeping the playoff battle intensely competitive.

Still very much in the hunt are Delhi Capitals (10 points) and Kolkata Knight Riders (9 points), while Mumbai Indians join LSG as the only two teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
