The Indianapolis Colts are doing their homework on a hidden gem in the NFL draft pool. According to reports, the team is hosting NAIA standout Kyle Dixon, a wide receiver from Culver-Stockton College, on an official pre-draft visit.
Dixon possesses the kind of athletic profile that turns heads in scouting circles. Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, he reportedly clocked a 40-yard dash in the 4.45-4.5 second range, complemented by an explosive 40.5-inch vertical leap. These measurables suggest a powerful, big-bodied receiver with legitimate downfield speed.
His production at the NAIA level was nothing short of dominant. Over the past two seasons, Dixon was a centerpiece of the offense, surpassing 1,100 receiving yards each year and nearly hitting 1,300 yards in 2025. He proved to be a constant big-play threat, averaging 16.7 yards per catch and racking up 24 total touchdowns in that span.
For the Colts, this due diligence makes perfect sense. The competition for the WR3 spot behind starters Alec Pierce and Josh Downs is wide open, with players like Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Ashton Dulin in the mix. Adding a high-upside athlete like Dixon, who is not currently on many consensus draft boards and could be an undrafted free agent target, is a low-risk move to bolster depth and inject competition into the receiver room.
While Dixon faces a significant jump in competition from the NAIA to the NFL, his physical tools and collegiate production have clearly intrigued GM Chris Ballard and the Colts' scouting department as they look to build a complete roster for the upcoming season.
