Watford boss Ed Still says he knows what needs to be done so the club "can be in Coventry's position" next season.

Watford boss Ed Still is feeling the heat, but he's not backing down. With the Hornets set to wrap up their season at home against Championship champions Coventry on Saturday, Still insists he knows exactly what it takes to turn things around—and he's ready to prove it.

Appointed in February on a two-and-a-half-year deal after Javi Gracia's resignation, the 35-year-old has managed just three wins in 14 games. That's a tough record for any manager, especially at a club like Watford, where the revolving door for head coaches has become almost legendary. Still is the 11th full-time boss since the 2020-21 season, and speculation is already swirling that he could be the next to go.

But Still isn't letting the noise get to him. "I'm not on social media, I'm not reading the press every day," he told BBC Three Counties Radio. "But I know that's part and parcel of football. When results aren't good—and when there's been such a high turnover of managers here—there's going to be smoke. You prepare for it, you take it, and you move on."

Watford currently sit in 16th place, 13 points adrift of the play-offs. Since their relegation from the Premier League in 2020, they haven't finished higher than 11th. It's been a tough reset, but Still sees a clear path forward. "I know how intent I am on being here next season," he said. "I've learned lessons over the past few months. I've seen what needs to be done to make sure we're in Coventry's position this time next year."

Despite his age, Still brings plenty of experience. "I've been in the business a long time, I've always been a football fan," he added. "I know exactly what's being written and what the fans are saying. That's all outside noise. We just block it out, get on with the job, keep our heads down, and focus on what we can control."

For Watford fans, the question is whether Still will get the time to see that vision through. One thing's for sure: he's not backing down from the challenge.
