North Carolina football is turning up the heat on the recruiting trail, and with summer just around the corner, every move counts. This is prime time for building relationships, with coaches visiting recruits at home, scouting practices, and players lining up official visits. But it's not just the sideline staff getting in on the action—off-field personnel are making waves too.

This week, UNC general manager Michael Lombardi made a key trip to Texas to check out a promising young quarterback. According to TarHeel247, Lombardi watched 2027 prospect Noah Spinks throw during practice and even stopped by his family's home for a visit. That kind of personal touch can make all the difference in a recruit's decision.

Spinks, a three-star QB from Humble (Texas) Summer Creek, already has a UNC offer on the table from last month. He's set to make his first trip to Chapel Hill on June 5 for an official visit—his only one planned so far. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound signal-caller just picked up his second Power Four offer from Utah, joining the Tar Heels in his growing list of suitors.

On the field, Spinks is a proven playmaker. Last season, he led Summer Creek to a 12-2 record and a Texas Class 6A Division II state quarterfinal appearance. He completed 70.7% of his passes for 3,690 yards, 43 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, adding one rushing score. Before that, as a sophomore at Flower Mound High School, he threw for 2,042 yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

247Sports currently rates Spinks as a three-star recruit, ranking him No. 105 among quarterbacks nationally and No. 173 in Texas. While On3 hasn't ranked him yet, that's expected to change as more schools come calling. For now, the Tar Heels are making a strong early impression on a QB who could be a key piece of their future.
