The FC Bayern legend has a lot of opinions about the Bundestrainer, not many of them are good.

Uli Hoeneß, the legendary former president of FC Bayern Munich, has once again turned up the heat on Germany national coach Julian Nagelsmann, and he's not holding back. In a recent interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine, Hoeneß didn't mince words when sharing his thoughts on the Bundestrainer's approach—and let's just say, the praise is nowhere to be found.

With the World Cup in North America just a month away, Hoeneß questioned Nagelsmann's ability to build a cohesive squad. "If Germany manages to become a team even though the coach hasn’t managed to play with the same eleven twice in a row – then we have a chance," he said, taking a clear swipe at the coach's rotational tactics.

But Hoeneß didn't stop there. He contrasted Nagelsmann's methods with what he sees as a more effective approach at Bayern under Vincent Kompany. "Before the season, everyone said: the squad is too small, the squad isn’t good enough. But then the coach improved all the players, and above all, he turned them into a team. But our national team coach thinks he wins the games. No, the team wins the games."

It's a bold critique, especially considering Germany's recent form. Die Mannschaft has won all seven matches since their September loss to Slovakia, but the performances have left many fans—and apparently Hoeneß—unimpressed. Style points matter, and for a football icon like Hoeneß, winning alone isn't enough.

Germany's players will gather later this month for a final home friendly against Finland on May 31, though Kai Havertz will be absent due to his Champions League final commitments. After a warm-up match against the USA in Chicago, the real test begins: their World Cup opener against Curaçao in Houston.

Whether Nagelsmann can silence his critics—or if Hoeneß will have more to say—remains to be seen. One thing's for sure: the countdown to kickoff is on, and all eyes are on how this team comes together.
