Four Central Texas high school baseball teams advanced to the regional finals of the UIL playoffs with series wins Friday.

It was a thrilling Friday night for Central Texas high school baseball, as four teams punched their tickets to the UIL regional finals with decisive series wins. The action on the diamond was nothing short of electric, with standout pitching performances and clutch hitting leading the way. Here's how the local squads battled their way to the next round.

Dripping Springs was the first to secure its spot, completing a series sweep with a hard-fought 9-7 victory over La Joya. Jake Pardue was the star of the show, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Cade Sanders added a hit, a walk, and two runs driven in. But it was a team effort, as Sam Branyon, Jason Steele, Cruz McBride, Bobby Wilkinson, and Nixon Badilla each chipped in with an RBI, proving that depth often wins in the postseason.

Over in Rouse, the Raiders bounced back from a Game 2 loss in dramatic fashion, blanking C.C. Veterans Memorial 5-0 in the series-deciding Game 3. Jack Doss was untouchable on the mound, tossing a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts. At the plate, Joe Bury provided the fireworks with a three-run homer, while Mason Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and showed incredible resilience after also notching three hits in the earlier loss. Liam Mongold added a hit, a walk, and two runs scored to round out the offensive attack.

Cedar Park leaned on its pitching to edge past Harlingen South 2-1 in a tense affair. Dominic Naylor set the tone, striking out eight over 5 2/3 innings, before Kayaan Kotharia closed the door with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. The Timberwolves did all their damage in the fourth inning, scratching across two runs thanks to a walk, an error, a sacrifice bunt from Evan Daly, and a sacrifice fly from Mack Galindo. Cooper Camacho and Brandon Washburn each collected two hits to keep the lineup moving.

Liberty Hill opened its series with a nail-biting 3-2 win over Sharyland, thanks to a go-ahead RBI single from Brady Gage in the top of the sixth. The Panthers had to rally from a 2-0 deficit, with Journey Lowery delivering an RBI single and Caleb Calvert smacking a run-scoring double in the fifth to tie the game. Jordan Andrews was solid on the mound, striking out five over 6 1/3 innings to earn the win, while Carson Sharp slammed the door for the save. Calvert, Gage, and Koby Nuenschwander each finished with two hits, setting the stage for a potential series-clinching Game 2 on Saturday.

With these wins, the road to the state tournament is getting clearer for Central Texas. Stay tuned for more updates as these teams continue their playoff journeys.
