Jim Miller just added another chapter to his legendary UFC career—and this one hit close to home. Fighting in front of his home state crowd in New Jersey, the veteran lightweight delivered a first-round guillotine choke submission over Jared Gordon at UFC 328 on Saturday, extending his all-time record for most wins in UFC history.
After more than a year away from the Octagon, Miller looked sharp from the opening bell. He pressed the action on the feet early, and when Gordon caught a kick and attempted a takedown, Miller seized the moment. In a flash, he locked in a nasty guillotine choke—one of his signature moves—and refused to let go. Even as Gordon fought to escape from Miller's full guard, the pressure was relentless. The tap came at 3:29 of the first round.
This victory marked win No. 28 for Miller, the most in UFC history, and his 48th fight inside the Octagon—another all-time record. But for Miller, this night was about more than numbers. His young son, who recently battled and beat cancer, was in attendance. "My family gets to be here tonight," Miller said, visibly emotional. "My son went through some really difficult times... he ended up kicking the shit out of cancer. He’s all good today. We are cancer free."
Miller, who now has five guillotine choke submissions in the UFC, showed he still has plenty left in the tank. With his sights set on reaching 50 UFC fights before retirement, this performance proved that age and time off haven't dulled his instincts—or his ability to finish a fight in highlight-reel fashion.
