Sean Brady delivered a masterclass in ground control at UFC 328, completely shutting down Joaquin Buckley en route to a dominant unanimous decision victory (30-25, 30-25, 30-27) on the main card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

From the opening bell, Buckley came out aggressive, looking to take center stage. But Brady had other plans. After absorbing a blocked high kick and a brief clinch exchange, Brady drove through Buckley's defense for a takedown that set the tone for the entire fight. Once on the mat, Brady smoothly transitioned to mount and began landing heavy punches, even threatening with a kimura that Buckley managed to defend.

Round 2 was more of the same—only faster. Brady secured a takedown within 30 seconds, sliding into side control before moving to mount and unleashing a barrage of ground-and-pound. Buckley tried to scramble back to his feet, but every time he threw a kick, Brady caught it and put him back on the canvas. The rest of the round was a one-sided display of positional dominance, with Brady raining down strikes from full mount.

By Round 3, Buckley's coaches were pleading with him to stop throwing kicks. Brady's first takedown attempt missed, but his second double-leg landed clean. From side control, Brady briefly considered an arm-in guillotine choke before abandoning it for full mount, where he continued to pound away until the final bell.

The scorecards reflected the utter control: two judges saw it 30-25, another 30-27. It was a statement performance from Brady, who improved to 19-2 overall and 9-2 in the UFC. In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, a fired-up Brady declared himself a top-five welterweight, reminding everyone he's bounced back strong from his stoppage loss to Michael Morales at UFC 322.

For Buckley, who falls to 21-8, it was a night to forget. He simply had no answer for Brady's relentless wrestling and suffocating top game. The welterweight division just got a loud wake-up call: Sean Brady is back, and he's not here to play.
