Senior day at Easton Stadium was nothing short of spectacular as No. 5 UCLA softball delivered an emphatic 11-3 run-rule victory over No. 11 Oregon, sending their senior class off in style. The festivities kicked off with a lighthearted moment when the mothers of seniors Megan Grant, Jordan Woolery, and Taylor Tinsley threw ceremonial first pitches to their daughters—with Tinsley jokingly rating her mom’s effort a "6.5 out of 10" after a short-hop delivery.

But once the game began, the Bruins were all business. Tinsley (26-5) bounced back from a tough weekend, tossing 2⅓ scoreless innings of relief after Oregon had snapped UCLA’s 20-game home winning streak in the first two games of the series. Grant added two hits, including a double down the right-field line, while Woolery delivered the highlight of the day with a two-run homer.

The long ball has become UCLA’s signature this season, and Sunday was no exception. The Bruins launched four home runs against the Ducks, extending their school- and Big Ten-record total to 173—tying Oklahoma for the most in the nation. Rylee Slimp, Aleena Garcia, and Sofia Mujica all went deep, joining a lineup where a school-record eight players have reached double-digit homers. Grant leads the charge with a program-record 35, followed by Woolery’s 33 and freshman Bri Alejandre’s 20.

"We definitely feed off each other," Woolery said of the contagious power surge. "It's contagious, for sure."

UCLA coach Kelly Inouye-Perez summed up the day perfectly: "There's magical moments that happen on senior day. It's kind of crazy; it always kind of happens."

With Grant chasing the NCAA single-season home run record (37, set by Arizona’s Laura Espinoza in 1995) and the Bruins sitting at 45-7 overall and 20-4 in Big Ten play, this senior class is leaving an indelible mark on one of the most dominant seasons in program history. After snapping a rare two-game skid, UCLA heads into postseason play with momentum and a powerful reminder of what this team can do when everything clicks.
