This honor comes as no surprise, given the Bruins' dominant season at No. 1 in the nation and Cholowsky's relentless performance on the field.

Cholowsky stands alone as the sole representative from UCLA's impressive 46-5 roster among the 25 college baseball players vying for this top individual accolade. Anchoring the lineup, he has been a driving force for the Bruins' offense, which ranks 17th nationally. With a .338 batting average and 21 home runs—tied for 13th in the country—Cholowsky has knocked in 59 runs over 51 games, showcasing his ability to deliver in clutch moments.

This recognition is not a flash in the pan. Cholowsky is now a two-time Golden Spikes semifinalist, joining Texas left-handed pitcher Dylan Volantis as the only repeat honorees this year. Last season, he earned First Team All-American honors, the Baseball America Player of the Year award, and the Big Ten Player of the Year title. The Golden Spikes Award has a storied history, with past winners including MLB superstars like Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, Buster Posey, and David Price.
