The UCLA Bruins are building a powerhouse through the transfer portal, and they just added another key piece. On Monday, former TCU guard Donovyn Hunter committed to UCLA, marking the program's third major portal acquisition this offseason.

Hunter brings a wealth of experience and a winning pedigree to Westwood. She arrives with one year of eligibility remaining after spending the last two seasons at TCU, where she was a starter and instrumental in guiding the Horned Frogs to an Elite Eight appearance this past season. Her stat line of 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, coupled with career-best shooting percentages, demonstrates her well-rounded game and efficiency.

This move also represents a homecoming of sorts for Hunter and a reunion for the Bruins. Hunter began her collegiate career at Oregon State, where she was a Pac-12 All-Freshman team selection. At Oregon State, she played alongside current Bruin Timea Gardiner, forging a chemistry that UCLA will look to reignite. Gardiner, the former Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year, and Hunter previously helped lead the Beavers to an Elite Eight, experience that will be invaluable in Los Angeles.

Hunter's commitment further solidifies UCLA's unique identity as a collective of top-tier transfer talent. Following their national championship run, the Bruins have embraced a "Pac-12 Avengers" ethos, as guard Charlisse Leger-Walker famously stated, uniting stars from across the former conference. With Hunter now in the fold, UCLA adds another veteran leader as they aim to defend their title and navigate the competitive landscape of the Big Ten.
