Tymek Kucharczyk made history at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, becoming the first Polish driver to win an Indy NXT race with a masterful performance in the series' nightcap doubleheader. The 20-year-old HMD Motorsports driver turned a clever opening-lap move into his first career victory, holding off relentless pressure to cross the finish line just 0.6273 seconds ahead of Andretti Global's Max Taylor on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn circuit.

Starting from fifth on the grid, Kucharczyk seized his opportunity when the frontrunners—pole-sitter Taylor, Alessandro De Tullio, and Josh Pierson—all briefly went off course in a three-wide battle through Turn 1. While Nikita Johnson also challenged for the lead, he got caught behind Taylor, allowing Kucharczyk to slip past and take command. From there, the young Polish driver managed a tense 30-lap duel, with Taylor recovering from his early miscue to mount a spirited chase. Taylor attempted an outside pass into Turn 1, resulting in slight contact, but Kucharczyk held his line and defended the top spot with poise.

"What a special day," Kucharczyk said. "To do it here, going back to November, my first time in an Indy NXT car and now winners here at Indy is just spectacular. So grateful to my sponsors, to my team. It was a tough race. It was really, really hard to keep Max behind me, who was pushing me for the whole race. Except for any lockup that I made during the race, it was a pretty flawless execution. Yeah, super happy."

Enzo Fittipaldi (HMD Motorsports) backed up his Race 1 victory with a solid third-place finish, while Lochie Hughes (Andretti Global) crossed the line fourth and Alessandro De Tullio (AJ Foyt Racing) rounded out the top five. After six of 17 races, Nikita Johnson holds an 11-point lead over Kucharczyk in the championship standings (231-220), with Taylor sitting third, 14 points back, followed by Fittipaldi (-16) and Hughes (-64).
