Tyler Glasnow's Wednesday afternoon start against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park took an unexpected turn when the Dodgers' right-hander exited after just one inning due to lower back pain, as announced by the team.

The setback occurred while Glasnow was warming up for the second inning. He was quickly joined on the mound by catcher Dalton Rushing, manager Dave Roberts, head athletic trainer Thomas Albert, and the entire infield. After a brief discussion, Glasnow walked off the field and headed to the clubhouse, leaving the Dodgers in a tough spot early in the game.

Despite the abbreviated outing, Glasnow made a memorable mark in the first inning. He allowed a solo home run but also notched two strikeouts, including a milestone moment when he caught Yordan Álvarez looking on a curveball for the 1,000th strikeout of his career. That achievement places him among elite company—he's the 576th pitcher in Major League history to reach that impressive total.

Before this injury, Glasnow had been firing on all cylinders this season. He led the Dodgers with 49 strikeouts and a stellar 2.72 ERA, while also pacing the team in innings pitched (38 2/3) through the end of April. His early-season dominance had made him a key asset for Los Angeles, both on the mound and as a fan favorite in the clubhouse.

Left-hander Jack Dreyer stepped in to replace Glasnow and delivered two scoreless innings, giving the Dodgers a much-needed boost as they scrambled to piece together the rest of the game. For now, all eyes will be on Glasnow's recovery and how this affects the Dodgers' rotation plans moving forward.
