Stephen Warnock didn't hold back in his assessment of Liverpool's two marquee attacking signings following Saturday's frustrating 1-1 draw with Chelsea. The former Liverpool defender delivered a scathing verdict on both players, rating one of them a shocking "two out of 10" for their performances this season.

Speaking exclusively to Empire of the Kop on behalf of BetWright, Warnock pulled no punches when discussing Alexander Isak's first campaign at Anfield. The Swedish striker arrived from Newcastle in a blockbuster £125m move, but has managed just four goals in 22 appearances across all competitions. "Isak's a two out of 10, isn't he?" Warnock said bluntly. "He's done nothing. He hasn't contributed at all."

However, the pundit didn't place all the blame on the 26-year-old's shoulders. Warnock pointed a finger at Liverpool's transfer strategy, suggesting the club's drawn-out pursuit of the striker set him up for failure. "If you know you're going for a player over the summer transfer window, get him in quickly. Don't drag it out and allow him to train on his own, so he can't then get up to speed properly."

Injury problems and a lack of rhythm have clearly hampered Isak's progress, though Virgil van Dijk has insisted the dressing room remains fully behind the forward. With Liverpool still fighting to secure Champions League football, every performance matters—and the pressure is mounting on the club's record signing to deliver.

Warnock was slightly more measured when discussing Florian Wirtz, the German playmaker who arrived for a staggering £116.5m. "I can't make my mind up on him," Warnock admitted. "I think he's technically one of the most gifted players we've seen, but at the moment he looks like a luxury player that Liverpool can't afford to have."

For fans donning their Liverpool kits on matchdays, these are worrying words. The club's attack was supposed to be transformed by these two signings, but instead, both have struggled for consistency. The good news? Warnock still believes there's hope for both players going forward. With the season entering its crucial phase, the question is whether they can turn that potential into performances.
