The Wisconsin Badgers are set to lose two of their biggest stars this offseason, but both Nick Boyd and John Blackwell have earned a major milestone on their journey to the next level: an invitation to the 2026 NBA Combine.

Boyd, a senior, is pursuing his NBA dreams full-time, while Blackwell—testing the draft waters—has already committed to transfer to Duke. On Friday, the NBA announced that both guards are among 73 players invited to the combine, set for May 10–17 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

For Blackwell and others still weighing their options, the combine offers a crucial opportunity: showcase their skills, get professional feedback, and decide by the May 27 withdrawal deadline whether to stay in the draft or return to college. It's a win-win scenario for players testing the waters.

The duo formed one of the nation's most formidable backcourts this season. Boyd averaged 20.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds, shooting 48% from the field and 36.5% from three. Blackwell wasn't far behind, putting up 19.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while knocking down nearly 39% of his three-point attempts.

While Blackwell is expected back at Duke for his senior year, both players will be in the spotlight during combine week. For Badgers fans, it's a bittersweet moment—watching two stars take their next steps, but knowing they made their mark in Madison.
