Tuesday's prep baseball and softball action delivered a thrilling slate of games, with standout performances and milestone achievements lighting up the diamond. Here's a recap of the day's top highlights:
In Lincoln Prairie Conference play, the Unity Knights (18-6) rolled past the Redskins (6-17) behind a stellar outing from Marcus Otto. Otto collected three hits at the plate and pitched a complete seven-inning game, striking out seven batters. Two hits apiece from additional Knights batters, along with two RBIs each from key contributors, sealed the victory. The Redskins managed a few hits of their own but couldn't overcome Unity's balanced attack.
The Blue Devils (15-8) secured a nonconference home win thanks to three hits from one standout and a pair of RBIs from another. Their pitcher struck out four batters over three innings to keep the opposition in check.
The Bulldogs (19-6) powered past the Hawks (10-13) in nonconference action, with a three-hit performance leading the charge. One Bulldog launched a home run and drove in two runs, while a Hawk managed a double in the losing effort.
The Rockets (20-6) fell in a nonconference road game despite a strong individual showing: two hits, two RBIs, and 10 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings on the mound.

In an eight-inning LPC thriller, the host Blue Devils (7-10) edged the Raiders. A double and two singles led the Blue Devils' attack.
The Chargers (6-18) dropped a nonconference home game to the Tigers (20-11), despite three hits apiece from two players and a pair of hits from another.
The host Blue Devils (12-16) earned a nonconference win behind two hits, two doubles, and nine strikeouts from their pitcher. The Chargers (4-15) saw three hits—including a double—from one player and a home run from another.
In a marquee nonconference matchup, the Maroons (26-4-1) edged the Tigers (19-4). A solo home run in the top of the sixth and 11 strikeouts over six innings of one-hit pitching guided the Maroons. The Tigers' lone hit came from a player who also pitched seven innings, allowing just three hits.
The Bunnies (12-14) bounced the Cornjerkers (2-19) in nonconference play, powered by four hits each from two players and three hits each from two others. Hoopeston Area's leader had three hits, while two teammates added two each.
The Raiders (10-12) traveled interstate and secured a road win, led by a double and two singles from one player. Three others each recorded two hits, supporting a pitcher who allowed just two hits over seven innings.
Finally, the Eagles (14-13) celebrated a milestone in a nonconference win. Their pitcher struck out 13 batters—including her 400th career strikeout—to lead the team to victory.
