Truist Championship picks 2026: Can we go for three straight winners?

After going back-to-back at Zurich and Cadillac, a few of our experts are looking to Xander Schauffele to keep the streak alive.

The golf season is heating up—and so is our expert panel. After back-to-back wins at the Zurich Classic and the Cadillac Championship, we're riding a wave of momentum. Rookie panelist Ryan Noonan has been on fire, correctly picking the Fitzpatrick brothers in New Orleans and Cameron Young last week at Doral. Stephen Hennessey also cashed in on Young. Don't let us get too hot—we might just make it three in a row.

For the 2026 Truist Championship at Quail Hollow, Noonan is doubling down on Young, while two of our other experts are putting their faith in a two-time major champion with a stellar track record at this course. The full Golf Digest betting panel includes Pat Mayo of Underdog/Mayo Media Network, Andy Lack of the Inside Sports Network, Ryan Noonan of Betsperts, Keith Stewart of Read The Line, and your two authors.

Here's how our experts see the action unfolding at Quail Hollow:

Pat Mayo is going with Xander Schauffele (12-1 at FanDuel). "The price isn't great, but it's time for Xander to break through. He's third in ball-striking, has a win and multiple top finishes at Quail Hollow, and his putting has stabilized over the last two months. His moment is coming."

Keith Stewart is backing Rory McIlroy (+700 at Bet365). "Twelve starts at Quail Hollow, four wins, nine top 10s. Need I say more? Rory will be in the mix on Sunday. Enjoy the ride."

Ryan Noonan is sticking with Cameron Young (10-1 at FanDuel). "Yes, I'm going back-to-back on Young. He won comfortably last week, but he could have gone even lower if he'd performed better on the par 5s—his 25 percent birdie-or-better rate on Doral's par 5s was the worst in the field. Any regression on the greens is offset by the positive regression I expect on Quail Hollow's par 5s. Over his last 50 rounds, Young's par 5 birdie-or-better rate is 52.7 percent. That's nearly a shot per round improvement."

Whether you're backing a proven champion or a rising star, this week's picks are loaded with potential. Grab your gear and get ready for another thrilling weekend on the course.
