Mike Trout, Jorge Soler and Zach Neto hit home runs, Ryan Zeferzahn worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning and the Los Angeles Angels held on for a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. Zeferjahn hit a batter and walked two in the ninth before retiring Edgar Quero on a groundout for his first save this season and his third in 10 career opportunities. The right-hander struck out rookie home run leader Munetaka Murakami — tied with the Yankees' Aaron Judge at 14 — with a runner on first to get the final out in the eighth.

The Angels lit up the scoreboard with a power display at Angel Stadium Tuesday night, as Mike Trout, Jorge Soler, and Zach Neto each went deep to lift Los Angeles to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. It was a night of clutch moments and high drama, especially in the final frames.

After the White Sox struck first with two runs in the top of the first off Angels starter Sam Aldegheri, Trout answered in the bottom half. The three-time MVP crushed his 11th homer of the season—and the 415th of his illustrious career—with one out, sparking a quick rally. Soler followed two batters later with his eighth home run, knotting the game at 2-2 and sending a clear message: the Angels weren't backing down.

The game remained tight until the fifth inning, when Neto broke out of a prolonged slump with a tiebreaking two-out solo shot—his first homer since April 10 and his sixth of the season. Trout, who reached base four times on the night, later scored from first on a Nolan Schanuel double to push the lead to 4-2 and chase White Sox starter Erick Fedde (0-4). Fedde allowed four runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The Angels' bullpen then took center stage. José Fermin (1-1) tossed a scoreless fifth to earn the win, but the real heroics came from rookie right-hander Ryan Zeferzahn. After striking out Munetaka Murakami—tied with Aaron Judge for the MLB lead in home runs at 14—to escape a jam in the eighth, Zeferzahn found himself in another tight spot in the ninth. He hit a batter and walked two to load the bases, but calmly induced a game-ending groundout from Edgar Quero to notch his first save of the season and the third of his career.

Chase Meidroth pulled Chicago within one with a leadoff homer in the seventh, but the White Sox couldn't complete the comeback. Colson Montgomery and Miguel Vargas each extended their on-base streaks to 18 games for Chicago.

For Angels fans, the night was a reminder of the lineup's potential: the top four hitters each drove in a run for the first time since June 2021. The series finale Wednesday features White Sox lefty Noah Schultz (2-1, 2.53 ERA) against Angels right-hander Walbert Ureña (0-3, 3.86 ERA).
