Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to hand teenage defensive sensation Luka Vuskovic a new and improved contract, following his outstanding loan performances at Hamburger SV, according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back originally signed for Spurs from Hajduk Split back in 2023, when he was just 16. However, due to post-Brexit regulations, he couldn't officially join the North London club until after turning 18. Since then, the "exceptional talent" has gained valuable experience through loan spells at Radomiak Radom and Westerlo, before finally arriving at Tottenham in July 2025 and subsequently moving to Hamburg.

Now plying his trade in the Bundesliga, Vuskovic has caught the attention of Europe's elite clubs with his commanding displays. In response, Spurs director of football Johan Lange has personally travelled to Hamburg to discuss the youngster's future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Currently on a modest wage package after signing a five-year deal last summer, the teenage sensation is set for a significant pay rise. The new terms would see him earning in line with other first-team squad members, as Tottenham move quickly to protect their investment and fend off growing interest from across the continent.

Off the pitch, Spurs are fighting for their Premier League survival, locked in a tense relegation battle that has seen them win just enough in recent weeks to keep hope alive. Winning their final three matches would secure top-flight status for next season. Regardless of the outcome, the club is expected to strengthen their backline in the summer, with both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven potentially heading for the exit door.
