The Ohio high school baseball season is heating up, and the latest state coaches' poll confirms the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) is a powerhouse to watch. Three of its teams have stormed into the top 11 of the Division I rankings, signaling a thrilling race ahead.
Leading the GWOC charge is Springboro, which has picked up right where its 2025 state runner-up campaign left off. The Panthers are a perfect 7-0 and sit at a formidable #3 in the state, earning serious respect from voters. Hot on their heels is #6 Beavercreek (7-1), while Centerville makes its presence known at #11 with a strong 6-2 start. The first major showdown between these contenders is set for April 27th when Beavercreek visits Springboro—a can't-miss game for any local baseball fan.
The Miami Valley League (MVL) is also making serious noise across multiple divisions. In Division II, the undefeated Troy Trojans (8-0) hold the #4 spot. Division III features two MVL standouts, with Butler (8-0) ranked #3 and Tippecanoe (8-3) coming in at #8.
The depth of talent across Southwest Ohio is on full display in the smaller school divisions. In Division V, Coldwater (6-1) and Anna (6-0) are ranked #7 and #10, respectively. The Division VI poll sees St. Henry (8-0) starting the year at #2, while in Division VII, traditional power Minster (4-1) holds the #4 position.
With so many ranked teams, the path to the state tournament promises to be fiercely competitive. These early polls set the stage for what should be an unforgettable season of high school baseball in Ohio.
