Baseball fans, take note: tonight's Cubs vs. Reds matchup at Wrigley Field is getting an early start. With rain and storms expected to roll into Chicago later this evening, the Cubs have wisely bumped up first pitch by 30 minutes.

Originally scheduled for 6:40 p.m. CT, the game will now begin at 6:10 p.m. CT. It's a savvy move by the organization to stay ahead of the weather and maximize the chances of getting a full game in before the skies open up.

If you already have tickets, there's no need to worry—your digital tickets should have automatically updated in the MLB Ballpark app (ours did without a hitch). Gates at the historic ballpark will swing open 90 minutes before the new start time, so you can start filing in at 4:40 p.m. CT.

Whether you're heading to the Friendly Confines or tuning in from home, this shift gives us all a little extra reason to get excited for baseball a bit earlier tonight. Here's hoping those 30 minutes make all the difference for a full nine innings of action.
