Bayern Munich may have escaped with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg, but it was anything but a comfortable win. The visitors piled on relentless pressure, leaving the Bavarians scrambling to protect their lead. It took standout performances from Jonas Urbig and Michael Olise to keep the scoreline intact, but the match was scrappy from start to finish.

Young midfielder Tom Bischof, who turned in a solid performance himself, reflected on the tense affair and his own near-miss. "We agreed that I would get a shot off – that’s how we planned it and we executed it well," Bischof said. "It annoys me, I would have been very happy." It’s a moment that could have turned the game into a more comfortable win, but for Bischof, the disappointment is a learning opportunity.

The 19-year-old was also quick to point out the team’s defensive lapses. "Harry is allowed to miss sometimes. Wolfsburg could have scored five goals – that wasn’t good from us. The gaps were too big," he admitted. "In the second half, we played together more, made them run more. That was the mistake in the first half. It’s always bad when you concede a lot of chances and goals."

Bischof saved his highest praise for goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, who stepped up in the absence of Manuel Neuer. "It’s amazing how he fills in for Manu whenever he gets the chance. He has a fantastic presence. He has to be taken to the World Cup," Bischof stated. It’s a bold claim, but one that underscores Urbig’s growing reputation as a reliable last line of defense.

For Bayern, the win keeps them on track, but the performance leaves plenty of room for improvement. As Bischof and his teammates know, in the Bundesliga, you can’t afford to give opponents five clear chances and still expect to walk away with three points. Next time, they’ll need to tighten up and find that killer instinct earlier.
