Fight week is officially here for UFC 328: Chimaev vs. Strickland, and the predictions are rolling in. As analysts, fighters, and fans debate the outcome of the main event middleweight title bout, heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has stepped into the conversation with his take on the highly anticipated showdown.

The undefeated champion Khamzat Chimaev will make his first title defense against former champion Sean Strickland, and Aspinall sees a compelling battle ahead. On his YouTube channel, the heavyweight kingpin broke down the matchup with a balanced perspective.

"I think this is going to be a good fight," Aspinall said. "Khamzat looks pretty unstoppable at the moment with his takedowns and stuff. His striking is obviously very dangerous as well. Sean Strickland probably has a little bit of an edge in the striking department, but Khamzat's grappling is a major factor. I don't know if Sean will be able to get up off the bottom enough times."

Aspinall added a personal touch, noting his familiarity with Strickland's camp. "I know Sean's coach, and I've trained with Sean a little bit. Everyone close to him keeps saying how good he is at getting up off the bottom. So, it's going to be real interesting."

The heavyweight champ zeroed in on the key question: How many times can Strickland escape Chimaev's relentless pressure without getting caught in a submission or exhausting himself? "Khamzat will just rinse and repeat for the full five rounds," Aspinall explained. "If Strickland can come through that, not be exhausted—which he's never shown signs of before—and put him on the end of that awkward, unorthodox striking style, there's definitely a chance for him."

Ultimately, Aspinall sided with the champion. "The verdict is Khamzat by decision. I think it will be a little more competitive than the Dricus Du Plessis fight, but Khamzat by decision."

With Aspinall's insight in mind, fans can expect a tactical war where Chimaev's grappling pressure meets Strickland's grit and awkward stand-up. Who will walk away with the belt? We'll find out soon enough.
