Manchester United youngster Toby Collyer's 2024/25 campaign has been defined by frustrating setbacks, with a new injury update now ruling him out for the remainder of the regular season.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who made his first-team breakthrough in last season's Community Shield, embarked on a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion last summer to gain crucial senior experience. However, his time at The Hawthorns was plagued by injuries, leading to the loan's cancellation in January.

A fresh start at Hull City offered hope, but Collyer's fortunes haven't improved. According to reports from Hull Live, the promising talent has suffered a significant ankle injury in training after a collision with goalkeeper Dillon Phillips, sidelining him for approximately three weeks.

This latest blow caps a difficult season for the United loanee. Across both clubs, he has managed only 17 appearances—mostly as a substitute—totaling just 357 minutes of Championship football. His sole assist and a promising 74-minute display against Coventry City in early April have been rare bright spots in a campaign marred by inconsistency and bad luck.

With Hull City pushing for a playoff place, Collyer's season is effectively over for the regular schedule. A return would only be a faint possibility if Hull reaches the Championship playoff final at Wembley in late May. For now, the young midfielder is set to return to Manchester United's Carrington training base to begin his rehabilitation process.
