What was shaping up to be a quiet evening quickly took a surprising turn when the Tennessee Titans released a statement that the President of Football Operations, Chad Brinker, was stepping down from the organization. With his departure, the Tennessee Titans will now be on the hunt for a new person to run the executive side of the football operations.

First hired by then general manager Ran Carthon in 2023 as assistant general manager, Brinker was promoted to President of Football Operations in 2024 and led the search and eventual hiring of Mike Borgonzi at the end of the 2024 season.

This departure was somewhat foretold in January, when owner Amy Adams Strunk restructured the front office, assigning Brinker to a more executive administrative role, which gave Borgonzi control of the on-field football product, including roster management, scouting, and coaching staff.

Brinker was also instrumental in reshaping the Titans' analytics department and in strategizing the offseason plan in both free agency and the draft. Prior to joining the Titans, he spent 13 years climbing the NFL ladder with the Green Bay Packers, and from the tone of his resignation statement, he would like to get back to his roots and find a larger role in a personnel department.
