Minnesota Timberwolves win the best-of-seven play-off series 4-2 to reach the Western Conference semi-finals.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are moving on. After a hard-fought 110-98 victory in Game 6, they've eliminated the Denver Nuggets 4-2 in their best-of-seven playoff series, setting up a Western Conference semifinal showdown with the San Antonio Spurs.

It was a tight battle throughout. The Timberwolves carried a 57-50 lead into halftime, but three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic came roaring back in the third quarter, dropping 14 points to tighten the game. Jokic finished with an impressive 28 points and 10 assists, but his stat line was overshadowed by a heated moment late in the fourth quarter.

With just under 10 minutes to play, Jokic got into a shoving match with Timberwolves' Jaylen Clark. The scuffle quickly drew in Minnesota's Naz Reid, resulting in technical fouls for all three players. This comes on the heels of Jokic's ejection for instigating a similar incident at the end of Game 4. After the loss, the Serbian star was blunt: "I needed to play better. I must play better."

For the Timberwolves, Jaden McDaniels was the star of the night, pouring in a career-high 32 points. The team could also get a major boost for Monday's series opener against the Spurs, as Anthony Edwards is expected to return from injury.

Over in the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks made history. They demolished the Atlanta Hawks 140-89 to close out their series 4-2. The 51-point margin of victory set a new franchise playoff record, and their 47-point halftime lead was the largest in NBA postseason history. Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a triple-double (12 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists), while OG Anunoby led all scorers with 29 points. The Knicks are now headed to their fourth straight conference semifinal, where they'll face either the Boston Celtics or the Philadelphia 76ers.

Speaking of the Sixers, they forced a decisive Game 7. Tyrese Maxey scored 30 points and Paul George added 23 as Philadelphia won Game 6, 106-93. The winner-take-all showdown is set for Saturday in Boston.
