Trailing late, the Comets rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning, with a clutch hit driving in the winning run to seal a 18-10 victory. Two players each collected two hits to fuel the comeback, while a key single and run scored proved decisive in sinking the Tigers, who fell to 19-5.
Elsewhere, the Rockets continued their strong season, improving to 25-7 with a walk-off win over the Trojans. Trailing by two runs heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Rockets erupted for a two-run rally, capped by a three-hit, two-RBI performance from their star hitter. Harris and Reese also contributed to the comeback effort.
The Panthers, still undefeated at 33-0, showcased their dominance with a convincing nonconference home win over the Blue Devils. Two singles and a pair of doubles keyed the offense, while the pitcher struck out four batters and scattered five hits over seven complete innings. The Blue Devils, now 12-17, managed two home runs from one player and a double from another but couldn't keep pace.
In other action, the Spartans improved to 28-2 with a strong pitching performance from Fitch, who struck out four and allowed seven hits in a complete-game victory over the visiting Raiders. A double and a single from one Spartan, along with two singles and a double from teammates, provided the offensive support needed to secure the nonconference win.
The Knights fell to 18-8 in a nonconference home loss to the Sabers, despite a triple and two hits from one player who also scored twice. Two pitchers combined for eight strikeouts over six innings, but the Sabers' offense proved too much to overcome.
The Vikings improved to 11-15 with a Big 12 win over the Chargers, thanks to three hits each from two players. Foster and another teammate drove in three runs apiece, while pitcher Danville allowed just three hits in the circle, striking out two and walking three.
The Eagles soared to a 15-13 record with a nonconference win over the Blue Devils, powered by two doubles and a double from key contributors. Two players from Villa Grove each recorded two hits, and pitcher Sherrick fanned nine batters over six innings to earn the win.
The Warriors improved to 15-9 with a nonconference victory over the Tigers, as one player collected three hits and two others added two hits apiece. Pitcher Kingdon struck out eight batters and allowed seven hits in a complete-game effort.
In a nonconference matchup, the Falcons fell to 7-18 despite a two-hit performance that included a double and an RBI. The Saints' offense was too strong, but the Falcons managed seven hits as a team.
