The college football recruiting trail is heating up, and the Auburn Tigers are in prime position to land a local standout. Kalib Spivey, a three-star defensive lineman from Alexander City, Alabama, has locked in his official visit to the Plains—and he's calling it a "dream" come true.
Spivey will make the trip to Auburn during the weekend of June 26, which will serve as the finale of his summer tour. Before heading south on Highway 280, the 2027 prospect plans to check out Duke, Georgia Tech, and Clemson. Having Auburn as his last stop could give the Tigers a significant advantage as he prepares to announce his commitment in early July.
"Auburn is a dream school of mine growing up. My whole family loves Auburn," Spivey shared in a recent interview. "I have been building relationships there since I was a freshman. It was my first offer."
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman brings versatility and a strong local connection to the table. He began his high school career at Benjamin Russell High School, spent time at Carver High School in Montgomery, and has since returned to Benjamin Russell for his senior season in 2026. Currently rated as a three-star prospect, Spivey ranks No. 66 nationally at his position and No. 21 in the state of Alabama.
For Auburn, landing Spivey would be a key addition to a 2027 recruiting class that currently sits at No. 39 in the nation, according to 247Sports. The class is headlined by four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook, but adding a homegrown defensive talent like Spivey could provide a major boost on the defensive line.
As summer visits ramp up, all eyes will be on Spivey's decision—and whether the Tigers can turn this "dream" visit into a commitment.
