The Golden State Warriors are not expected to sit still this offseason, especially with their championship window demanding urgency.
After a disappointing end to the season, the focus has quickly shifted toward how the franchise can retool around Stephen Curry and remain competitive in a loaded Western Conference.
That process is unlikely to be conservative. Instead, it is expected to involve aggressive moves and high-profile targets.
And the names already being linked suggest the Warriors are thinking big once again.
According to ESPN, the Warriors are expected to revisit multiple superstar pursuits.
“Either way, sources said there’s an expectation the Warriors could re-engage the Clippers on Leonard’s availability this offseason, compile another offer for Antetokounmpo and test the waters again on soon-to-be free agent LeBron James,” ESPN’s report stated.
Each of those names represents a different path, but the common theme is clear. The Warriors are exploring every possible avenue to add another elite-level player alongside Curry.
Whether it is through trade negotiations or free agency conversations, the front office appears determined to keep its championship ambitions alive.
The strategy is not limited to chasing stars. It also involves maximizing the value of the pieces already on the roster.
“They could also bring back Porzingis at a lower price than his $30.7 million expiring contract or negotiate a way to use him as a building block in a sign-and-trade for another big name,” ESPN added.
That flexibility gives Golden State multiple pathways to reshape the roster, whether by retaining talent at a reduced cost or leveraging it in larger deals.
Porzingis, in particular, represents a movable asset whose contract situation could open doors in negotiations with other teams.
In a market where superstar movement often defines the offseason, having that kind of optionality can prove decisive.
Ultimately, the Warriors are approaching this summer with a clear understanding. Standing still is not an option, and the path forward may very well depend on how aggressively they pursue the biggest names available.
