The Texas Longhorns are making waves this 2026 baseball season, and three of their standout stars are getting the recognition they deserve. Carson Tinney, Aiden Robbins, and Dylan Volantis have been named semifinalists for the prestigious Dick Howser Trophy, awarded annually to the top player in college baseball. With the Longhorns boasting one of the nation's best rosters, this trio has truly risen above the rest.

Tinney, in his first season with the Longhorns after transferring from Notre Dame, has been a force at the plate. The talented catcher boasts a .311 batting average over 51 games, driving in 51 runs and smashing 20 home runs among his 29 extra-base hits. Arriving with high expectations, he's proven he's more than up to the challenge, providing both power and consistency in the lineup.

Robbins, another transfer who joined Texas in the offseason, has been equally impressive. Through 201 at-bats, he's hitting .348 with 53 RBIs and 19 home runs. Despite this being his first year in the SEC, the Pennsylvania native has been a tough out for opposing pitchers, showcasing his ability to deliver in clutch moments.

Rounding out the trio is Volantis, a left-handed pitcher who has been frustrating hitters all season. In a career-high 74.2 innings, he's posted a stellar 2.05 ERA with 105 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .188 batting average. Already a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, Volantis has been a cornerstone of Texas's pitching staff.

As the Dick Howser Trophy selection process narrows in the coming weeks, all three Longhorns have made compelling cases. They rank in the top five in multiple categories, which bodes well for their chances of becoming finalists. While Texas's ultimate focus remains on winning a national title, the individual accolades are a testament to the depth of talent on this roster. If Tinney, Robbins, or Volantis bring home one of college baseball's biggest awards, it will be a celebration worth cheering for.
