Superlek is back, and he's bringing a hunger that could shake the bantamweight Muay Thai division to its core. The reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion, known as "The Kicking Machine," has set his sights on redemption when he faces Dagestani powerhouse Abdulla "Smash Boy" Dayakaev at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 15. The event, broadcasting live in Asia primetime from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, promises to be a pivotal moment in Superlek's storied career.
At 30 years old, Superlek boasts a resume that reads like a who's who of striking greatness. With a professional record of 139-31 and a 15-3 slate in ONE Championship, the Thai icon has conquered legends like Takeru Segawa, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Nabil Anane, and Jonathan Haggerty. But 2025 was a humbling year for the former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion. He was stripped of his bantamweight gold after missing weight for his rematch with Anane, then lost a decision to him. A subsequent defeat to Yuki Yoza in November marked two consecutive losses, leaving Superlek questioning his identity as a martial artist.
When the opportunity to face Dayakaev arose, Superlek didn't hesitate. "When they offered me Abdulla Dayakaev, I said yes immediately," he said. "I'd seen him fight Rambolek, and before that, he fought Nontachai at 155 pounds and also took on Yod-IQ. After watching his style, I felt like I could handle him, so I took the fight."
Dayakaev, however, is no easy mark. The 24-year-old "Smash Boy," training out of Team Mehdi Zatout, carries an 8-2 ONE record with six finishes. His fast hands and raw power have made him a feared competitor in the division. Coming off a knockout loss to Rambolek in January, Dayakaev is equally hungry for a statement win. But for Superlek, this fight is about more than just victory—it's about reclaiming his legacy. "This time, I'm hungry," he declared, signaling that the fire that made him a champion is burning brighter than ever.
