Thierry Henry has heaped high praise on Manchester City's rising star Nico O'Reilly, calling him a "dream come true" for manager Pep Guardiola. The Arsenal legend's comments come as the young midfielder continues to take the Premier League by storm in his breakthrough season.

O'Reilly has been nothing short of sensational for City, delivering a standout performance in the Carabao Cup final with a brace against Arsenal at Wembley in March. The Manchester-born academy graduate has quickly become one of Guardiola's most trusted players, showcasing remarkable versatility by seamlessly switching between left-back and midfield roles since February.

"I named him as one of the best young players in the Premier League a few months ago, so it's clear what I think of him," Henry told Betway. "Nico O'Reilly is a good player who can give you a lot of options. Tactically, especially with the way Pep Guardiola likes to play, he's a dream come true for a coach."

The France legend broke down exactly what makes O'Reilly such a nightmare for opponents. "Playing on the inside, the outside, he has an eye for goal at the back post and he's got an engine, so what's not to like? In Pep's system at Man City, it's very difficult to stop him because they interchange positions and they're not rigid. They're not predictable and although sometimes you know what they're going to do, you can't stop it."

The praise doesn't stop there. O'Reilly's blistering form has also caught the attention of Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, who has backed him for the PFA Young Player of the Year award. TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist has even suggested the young star could be a serious contender for both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year honors.

For City fans, seeing a homegrown talent thrive under Guardiola's system is a special sight. And with Henry's seal of approval, O'Reilly's stock continues to rise as the season reaches its climax. Whether he's bombing down the wing or pulling strings in midfield, this young star is proving he's ready for the biggest stage.
