Five Palm Beach County baseball teams took the field this weekend with their sights set on a trip to the state tournament in Fort Myers. The stakes couldn't be higher—these regional semifinal matchups were all best-of-three series, with the winners punching their tickets to the regional finals, the last stop before the state tournament from May 13-20.
In a thrilling series opener on Saturday, Park Vista edged out Jupiter 9-6 to sweep the series 2-0 and advance. The action was just as intense in the St. Thomas Aquinas vs. West Boca Raton showdown. After St. Thomas Aquinas took the first game 7-2 on Friday, West Boca Raton roared back with a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. But St. Thomas Aquinas sealed the series with a dramatic 15-14 victory in the decisive third game, winning 2-1.
Chaminade-Madonna showed their dominance with a pair of commanding performances, blanking St. John Paul II Academy 13-0 on Friday and following it up with a 10-0 shutout on Saturday to sweep the series 2-0. Meanwhile, Miami-Brito also flexed their muscles, taking down Jupiter Christian 11-0 in the opener before holding on for a 10-9 win in Game 2 to complete their sweep.
With these results, the path to Fort Myers is now set for the remaining contenders. For fans and players alike, the regional finals promise more high-stakes baseball as Palm Beach County teams chase state glory.
