The NFL schedule drop is always a spectacle—and true to form, the Steelers' 2026 slate was leaked before the league could make it official. But now that it's out, it's time for another cherished tradition: predicting every game, one by one.
Let's be clear: this isn't a scientific exercise. A lot can change between now and September (we're assuming Aaron Rodgers signs), but it's a fun way to set a baseline for the season ahead.
Week 1: vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Steelers have won the last five meetings against Atlanta, and the Falcons have never won in Pittsburgh. With the Falcons still in quarterback limbo and the Steelers opening at home under a new head coach, expect a fired-up Black and Gold squad to start strong.
Week 2: at New England Patriots
Last year, Pittsburgh needed five defensive turnovers to beat New England by just a touchdown. The Patriots only improved through 2025, culminating in a Super Bowl appearance—and by 2026, they might have added A.J. Brown. This one's a tough road test.
Week 3: vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Early in the season, the Bengals—typically banged up by midyear—should still be dangerous, especially with elite nose tackle Dexter Lawrence in the fold. But Cincinnati's defense still has holes, and the Steelers have home-field advantage.
Week 4: at Cleveland Browns (Thursday Night Football)
Times may change under Mike McCarthy, but this feels like a loss many are already penciling in. Pittsburgh has struggled in Cleveland lately, and the Thursday night setting only amplifies the slop factor.
Week 5: vs. Indianapolis Colts
I'm not sold on the Colts—even with a healthy Daniel Jones—repeating their surprising first-half success from 2025. Michael Pittman Jr. gets a petty game ball against his former team, but Pittsburgh should handle business at home.
Week 6: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers remain dangerous, but their wheels fell off in 2025, led by a disappointing season from Baker Mayfield. I don't have much faith in Todd Bowles righting the pirate ship this year.
Week 7: vs. New Orleans Saints (International Game)
An international contest always brings Thursday Night Football levels of wackiness. The Saints are in flux, and anything can happen on a neutral field—but the Steelers should have the edge.
Stay tuned as we break down the rest of the schedule, and gear up for the season with the latest Steelers apparel to show your pride every step of the way.
