Chelsea are once again being linked with Anthony Gordon, with the Blues looking for Premier League experienced players.

Chelsea still have some important games to play this season, and they don’t know who their manager will be next year.

But that hasn’t stopped them being linked with a number of summer transfer targets already, with one rumour being resurrected from 2022.

One of them is a player they’ve been linked with many times before – Anthony Gordon. The Blues wanted the winger when he was at Everton, but eventually saw him make the switch to Newcastle. He’s now ready to go, and the Magpies are willing to sell.

It won’t come cheap – Newcastle are looking to make a “significant profit” on the €40m they paid, according to the long read in the Athletic all about Gordon’s future. The piece notes that Gordon’s pace would add “a fresh dimension” to Chelsea who “lack top end speed.”

Depending on the finances, this is definitely a move we can see happening this summer if everything lines up between the two sides.

Marco Silva is not a name at the top of many Chelsea fans’ shortlist, but he’s certainly someone the Blues are going to speak to.
