The new era and a fresh start continues for Will Stein through new upgrades

Excitement is running high ahead of Will Stein’s first season in the Bluegrass.

Excitement is building as Will Stein prepares for his debut season with the Kentucky Wildcats, bringing a wave of change that has the Bluegrass buzzing. From fresh faces on the roster to a revamped training facility, Stein is ushering in a new era—and a new weight room is just the beginning.

The Kentucky Football weight room is set for a major upgrade, thanks to a $3 million project approved by the UK Board of Trustees in late April. After a decade of use, the facility is getting a much-needed modernization. "This includes electrical improvements and installation of durable, energy-absorbing flooring to support new state-of-the-art weight and strength training equipment," the board stated in its approval. It's the first update since the Joe Craft Football Training Facility opened in July 2016, back when Mark Stoops was entering his fourth season at the helm.

But Stein isn't stopping there. The Nutter-Shively Complex is also receiving offseason enhancements, signaling a commitment to upgrading every corner of the program. Since arriving in Lexington in early December, Stein has made technology a cornerstone of his approach. He introduced the Monarc system—a jugs machine that goes beyond standard drills—and outfitted quarterbacks with GoPros on their helmets, allowing them to review film from a first-person perspective. It's a fresh, modern twist that's already turning heads.

For a program that felt stagnant in recent years, Stein's energy and vision are a welcome jolt. While it may take time for these upgrades to translate into wins on the field, Wildcats fans can rest assured that the foundation is being rebuilt with care. The new era is here, and it's starting with smarter training, better tools, and a whole lot of momentum.
