You wouldn't have known it from the 2026 NFL Draft coverage until later, but: The Philadelphia Eagles weren't the only team calling wideout Makai Lemon to select him on Thursday night.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: At pick No. 20, the Dallas Cowboys were going to take someone probably on the defensive side of the ball... but then they dealt the pick to the Eagles. At No. 21 was the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had called Lemon to say they were going to take him there.
Except the Eagles had traded up, and per Rapoport, "[They] were trying to get in touch with Lemon, but he wasn't answering because he was already on the phone with the Steelers."
