The 2026 NFL Draft is here. All 32 teams will be looking to get the most out of their draft capital, but some teams will have more bites at the apple than others. The Ravens will be among the busier teams on Day 3 of the draft, when they will make eight of their 11 selections. But one they will not be using is the No. 142 pick, the second in the fifth round, which they traded to the Titans in exchange for edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones at the trade deadline last year.
Titans get: 2026 fifth-round pick (No. 142 overall)
The Ravens acquired the No. 142 pick that now belongs to Tennessee from the Jets in a draft weekend trade last year. Baltimore sent the No. 176 pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick – now set as No. 194 – to New York to move back seven spots and add a 2026 fifth-round pick. But the Jets’ struggles last year increased the value of their picks, something the Titans surely considered when Baltimore came calling for Jones at the deadline.
The deal with the Titans included the provision that the fifth-rounder would become a fourth-rounder if Jones recorded two sacks in purple and black – which he did – and the Ravens made the playoffs – which they did not.
Jones brought energy and urgency to a pass rush that badly needed some juice with Odafe Oweh in Los Angeles and Nnamdi Madubuike on the sidelines. Outside of those players, Jones’ 14.1% pass rush win rate led the Ravens’ defensive line. He put up 32 pressures in nine games with at least three in all but one game, per Pro Football Focus.
That is more than enough of an impact for his trade value, but it was not enough to move the needle for Baltimore’s defense. Jones then received a three-year, $36.5 million deal from the Patriots in free agency that is projected by OverTheCap’s Nike Korte to land the Ravens a fifth-round compensatory pick in 2027. That will be at the end of the round next year, as opposed to the second pick in the fifth round this year they gave up, but that is a fine bit of business for a half-season rental at a premium position.
The Titans will have a chance to use the pick they received in exchange for Jones on Day 3 of the draft. We will update.
