The Battle at the Beach (N.J.) 2026 releases revised schedule

The Battle at the Beach, New Jersey's premier high school football showcase, just got a major shakeup for 2026. Organizers released a revised schedule on Monday, and the biggest headline? A powerhouse Pennsylvania squad is stepping into the ring.

Paramus Catholic, originally slated to face Atco's Winslow Township, will now take on Wyndmoor's La Salle College on August 28th. It's a classic Garden State vs. Keystone State showdown, and it's the kind of matchup that gets scouts and fans talking. Notably, last year's participants Bergen Catholic and Winslow Township are off the 2026 roster.

"We appreciate the efforts of all parties involved in navigating this change and look forward to an exciting matchup against La Salle," Paramus Catholic announced via Instagram. "Our focus remains on providing a high-level competitive experience for our student-athletes and fans."

This isn't just any opponent. La Salle College enters the game as the No. 1 team in Pennsylvania, according to the final 2025 Massey Rankings. The Paladins bring serious firepower, headlined by 2027 four-star cornerback Austin Barrett, versatile athlete Nehki Martin, and rising star AJ Lopez. They've also added a key transfer: Class of 2029 quarterback Walker Snee, who switched from Bergen Catholic after rushing for 271 yards and three touchdowns last season.

Paramus Catholic finished 2025 at 6-7 and ranked 13th in the state. But with this new challenge on the horizon, they're looking to prove they belong on a national stage.

Here's the full lineup for the sixth annual Battle at the Beach:

Cedar Creek vs. St. John Vianney, 10 a.m.
Washington Township vs. Pope John XXIII, 1 p.m.
Ocean City vs. Princeton, 4 p.m.
