Estevao has suffered a grade four hamstring injury and his highly unlikely to take part in the World Cup according to reports.

The Brazilian only recently returned from a previous hamstring injury, but Estevao was forced off in the first 15 minutes of the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Initial reports had suggested Estevao was set to miss 15-20 days, but those reports appear to very much be wide of the mark.

The Athletic have reported Estevao’s participation at the World Cup this summer is in serious doubt due to a hamstring injury.

The report adds he’s reportedly suffered a grade four hamstring injury, and will obviously play no further part this season.

It’s a huge blow for not only Chelsea, but also Brazil, and it’s a major setback for the teenager who’s showed some glimpses of his talent this season.

Estevao is regarded as the best player to emerge from Brazil since Neymar, but he’ll be disappointed his debut campaign has been disrupted buy injury.

The 18-year-old is arguably Chelsea’s best winger, which is a testament to his talent, but also how poorly the Blues have recruited in the wide areas.
