Texas Longhorns forward Declan Duru is on the move, entering the NCAA transfer portal after a single season in Austin. The 6'8", 235-pound sophomore has three seasons of eligibility remaining as he seeks a fresh start and a larger role.

Duru's journey to Texas was an international one. A product of the famed Real Madrid youth academy in Spain, the German-born forward showcased his potential on the global stage, helping Germany secure a silver medal at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup. His strong performance there made him a coveted late addition to head coach Sean Miller's 2025 recruiting class, where he was rated a consensus four-star prospect.

Despite the promising pedigree, Duru's transition to the collegiate game proved challenging. He found minutes hard to come by in a deep Longhorns frontcourt, appearing in only 12 games and averaging 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in limited action. Struggling to find his rhythm from beyond the arc, Duru was unable to carve out a consistent spot in the rotation during conference play.
